Abstract

The article examines the peculiarities of axiological ideas in Western European philosophy of the early modern period (16–18 centuries) and reveals the characteristic features of specific axiological concepts of this historical time. Axiological considerations of the Renaissance, skeptical philosophy (M. Montaigne, B. Pascal, P. Bayle), rational philosophy (R. Descartes, B. Spinoza), sensualist philosophy (T. Hobbes) are amenable to generalization. It is substantiated that it was during this historical time that the defetishization and demystification of value and the combination of the value sphere of life with socio-historical practice took place.
