THE ROLE OF EDUCATIONAL GAMES IN INCREASING THE MOTIVATION OF STUDENTS FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

The essence of motivation and its types are characterized. Special attention is paid to the role of internal motivation and its influence on the educational process. Ways of increasing internal motivation through the use of educational games are analyzed, their types and functions are determined. Specific examples of educational games according to functional purpose are presented. This method of acquiring and assimilating knowledge, abilities and skills is considered as an effective and contributes to increasing the motivation of English language learners.
