Abstract
An indirect tax levied on the provision of goods and services is known as the Goods and Services Tax (GST). A single indirect tax structure for the whole country of India has been established with the replacement of numerous previous indirect tax laws by the GST Law. The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST), and the Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) are the three separate parts of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). Reducing the cascading tax effect—which occurs when products and services are exchanged together in a single operation—is its main goal. GST affects the cost of items directly by removing this cascade impact. The effects of India's Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the country's economy are examined in this article. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the GST's introduction, workings, and effects on different industries.
