NON RECURRENT THERAPY BY IRIMEDADI TAIL UTTARABASTI IN PYOMETRA- A CASE STUDY

Abstract
Pyometra is nothing but the accumulation of pus in uterine cavity. Intrauterine pyogenic infections are more dangerous and difficult to treat. Incidences of such type of infections are 0.5 in 1000 cases in Indian society. Modern science treats such type of infections in various manners such as broad spectrum antibiotic therapies by specifying the organism by culture and sensitivity. A patient having pyometra was one of the challenging aspects to an Ayurvedic management. By accepting the challenge, management was done with some Ayurvedic measures like Shodhana of pus by standard operative procedures. Uttarabasti, internal herbal medication, application of Kshaarsutra etc in combination with some modern techniques. Patient got relief. So Ayurvedic treatment with Irimedadi Tail garbhashaygata (Intra uterine) Uttarabasti was successful as a non-recurrent therapy in case of pyometra. The article focuses on details of pyometra case in OPD and IPD of PG department of Prasutitantra evum streeroga of Government Ayurveda College and hospital, Nanded.
