Abstract

Introduction. Literature for children of preschool and school age is a special world that educates a young reader intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, morally, and develops a personality. A special role in this process is assigned to educators and teachers who surround children, while they must not only love to read themselves, but also with the help of the artistic word to educate preschoolers and students-readers, to instill in them a careful attitude to books, a love for reading Ukrainian literature, to stimulate independent «conscious» children's reading in them. In order to professionally implement the purpose, tasks, and content of literary education, be it preschool education or junior high school education, educators and teachers must receive high-quality modern literary education, possess relevant knowledge, and be literarily knowledgeable. In this context, it is not enough to know Ukrainian works for children of preschool and primary school age, you need to be well acquainted with a modern, high-quality book about the war for children. Purpose. Today, modern Ukrainian literature about the war is not only a source of knowledge, but also a way of socialization and communication of a child of preschool and primary school age with the real world (cruel, filled with rage and injustice, unprincipled). Having met the child, he finds answers to questions about the war, its causes and consequences, understands the importance and danger of the concept of «war», and experiences the lives of the main characters in an emotionally saturated way. Methods. In the study, this question is investigated by means of pedagogical and artistic analysis literature on the researched issue, systematization. Results. A thorough analysis of research on the problem raised allows us to state that during the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine, many qualitatively new works for children of preschool and primary school age about the war appeared in the literary field. Today, children's writers face the task of not just putting in a book the facts of the war crimes of the Russian occupiers, but also of immortalizing on the pages of books the moral, spiritual, ethical and general human values that unite the Ukrainian people into a nation that gives them strength and faith in victory. Conclusion. The article discloses all aspects of the specified problem. With the help of well-chosen artistic images, based on the works of I. Andrusniak «Gerard the Guerrilla» (2022), Z. Zhivka «Patron Dog».» «A Little Story About a Big Dream» (2022), O. Mykhed «Cat, Rooster»,» Cupboard» (2022) and V. Chernyshenko «Battle for the City» (2022) Ukrainians are depicted as strong, strong-willed, honest, persistent, those who will go to victory without unnecessary pathos. As the basis of their characters, writers take today's heroes - war heroes. All writers write in the real plane, describe the events that began in February 2022 in Ukraine. Thus, I. Andrusniak uses grotesque elements to create the image of Gerard - in the image of a small guinea pig, the writer depicts the hero of the town, with the help of whose command the enemy forces were driven out. Z. Zhivka's Patron dog and V. Chernyshenko's Ghost were written off from real persons: the PSA of the DSNS Sapper Service Patron and the Ukrainian pilot S. Tarabalka, whom many consider the Kyiv Ghost. O. Mykhed's rooster, which survived the Russian bombing of Borodyanka on the wall of a destroyed building, became an immortal symbol of the strength and endurance of the Ukrainian people. All these characters and symbols «roll off the tongue» in the space of Ukrainian mass media and are already familiar to a young reader, and therefore easy to understand.
