Abstract

Objectives : 1. To assess the level of knowledge on ill effects of smoking among final year B.Sc. nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing, Bengaluru. 2. To find out the association between knowledge scores with selected demographic variables at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing, Bengaluru. Method: Descriptive approach was used to collect data from 30 subjects selected by convenient sampling technique through non probability sampling approach consisting 2 section. Section A – Demographic variables consisting 4 items Section B – Structured questionnaire for assessing knowledge level consisting 30 items. Result: The majority of respondents had adequate knowledge on ill effects of smoking Overall mean percentage of knowledge score is 60.11℅. Conclusion: The study was concluded to assess the knowledge regarding ill effects of smoking among final year B.Sc. nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing. In this descriptive study was used by taking 30 samples through convenient sampling technique. The data was analyzed and interpreted by applying descriptive statistic method. The basis of the findings of the study are as follows : Overall mean percentage of knowledge score is 60.11℅.
