A Mobile Tourist Guide for Trip Planning

In this paper, a novel Android based mobile phone application is presented to guide the tourists in their trip. Tourist guiding through mobile application contains both informing the tourist about spots, consulates and services located in city and suggesting trip plan with take tourist preferences, weather condition and time into consideration. Trip planning is achieved by Variable Neighborhood based algorithm. The application is designed for Istanbul city. Many tests are experimented on the system. The results show that the application is a candidate to be the most preferable tourist guide application.
