Abstract

Currently, HIV infection in pregnant women remains a serious public health problem. And the only way to solve this problem in our time is the use of antiretroviral therapy, which should be prescribed to all patients upon diagnosis of HIV, and continued indefinitely in order to slow down the development of the clinical picture. ART is necessary for pregnant women with HIV to maintain maternal health and prevent perinatal transmission of HIV infection. The risk of perinatal and postpartum transmission of HIV to the child is significantly reduced if ART is used from early pregnancy with sustained viral suppression.
