The article summarized and expanded the concept of "innovation potential of the company and existing approaches to the interpretation of its essence." The components of the innovation potential and impacts on it are considered. Grounded position that the level of innovation potential is determined not only resources, opportunities and abilities, but also direct and indirect influence of economic environment. There is proposed a definition of "innovation climate" and conclusion on its impact on the innovation potential of the company. Among the internal factors of influence on the innovative potential of enterprises emphasize the innovative culture, as determined for the search and perception of innovation.
