Abstract

The problem of artistic and aesthetic education with the study of its origins from the time of the Zaporozhian Sich is defined and justified in the article. The author examines the basic principles of artistic and aesthetic education of pupils in general education institutions of Ukraine in the second half of the twentieth century. It is noted that the process of artistic and aesthetic education to the 90s of the last century was defined by official documents of the Government and the Communist Party. Analyzing the main areas of artistic and aesthetic education of pupils in the Soviet school, determined by differences nature of the process with the 90-ies of XX century and modern educational process. It outlines the main ways and means of forming artistic and aesthetic skills in different periods of time, are examples. The author highlights the achievements of national science and practice of the period.
