Studying of the conflict behavior of convicts in the context of the penal system’s development

This article is devoted to the peculiarities of studying conflicts among convicts. The article presents the points of view of foreign and domestic psychologists on the problem of intrapersonal, interpersonal and intergroup conflicts. General provisions about this phenomenon, characteristic of different approaches, as well as elements of conflict are highlighted. The need to take into account personal characteristics when analyzing conflicts at various levels is substantiated. An analysis of the works of a number of authors who studied conflicts among convicts in the past and present was carried out. The key factors in the occurrence of the phenomenon in question among convicts, as well as ways to prevent them, are examined in detail. The question of the influence of the conditions of a correctional institution on the predisposition to conflicts and behavior in conflict situations is analyzed. The obtained theoretical results are generalized, conclusions are drawn about changing trends in the study of conflict behavior among convicts.
