Abstract
Among the branches of agriculture, animal husbandry is a source of important food products for humans: milk, meat, eggs, and supplies various types of raw materials for industry (food, light pharmaceuticals, etc.). The increase in live weight produced in livestock farming in the agricultural sector of Ukraine is formed in the meat product sub-complex, which unites producers of agricultural (livestock) products, trade organizations and enterprises of the meat processing industry in the process of raising livestock and poultry, their processing and sale of finished products. The meat product subcomplex is one of the strategic sectors of the national economy, the main purpose of which is to provide the population with the necessary amount of meat and meat products of appropriate quality. The level of development of the enterprises of the meat product subcomplex is an indicator that characterizes the level of livelihood of the population and is an important component of food security. However, today the meat subcomplex shows an imbalance in its development, when the economic component is preferred over the secondary environmental and social determinants. This is facilitated by the lack of compliance with environmental requirements and social standards in the vast majority of small producers, so there is an objective need to study the determinants of environmental impact on the development of meat products subcomplex of Ukraine, taking into account social factors. Among the main polluters are considered to be industry and transport, but no less harmful to the environment is agriculture. Traditional technologies of agricultural production significantly disturb the natural balance and pollute the environment. Today it is difficult to list all the environmental problems that arise as a result of human extraction of food products of animal origin, including: pollution of the environment by waste from livestock farms; depletion, waterlogging, salinization of soils; growing deficit of water resources, etc. The article develops a model of development of the national meat subcomplex using the method of analysis of the environment of poultry meat enterprises, taking into account the environmental component, which will help identify more promising positions in increasing the export potential of this product and environmental protection.
