Abstract
Studies were undertaken in experimental field of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, during two consecutive years (2008 and 2009 in the cropping seasons) to determine the effect of organic amendments in the form of oil cakes viz., neem, castor and jatropha cakes each @ 30 g/plant as spot treatment applied 10 days prior to sowing and carbofuran as treated check applied @ 10 g/plant at the time of sowing against Meloidogyne incognita on bottle gourd cv. Long Special. Pooled data of both the years revealed that highest improvement in per cent seed germination and fruit yield was 33.0 and 22.9%, respectively and lowest root-knot development (RKI= 3.3) was observed in neem cake treated plants, followed by jatropha cake and castor cake, respectively.
