Abstract

This paper investigates the significance of command rhetoric in speech communication, which involves the use of authoritative and directive language. Command rhetoric is a potent tool in different settings such as political speeches, military commands, and corporate leadership. The study aims to examine the theoretical underpinnings and practical uses of command rhetoric to understand its influence on how audiences perceive and respond to messages. By reviewing existing literature and case studies, the research demonstrates how command rhetoric can be effectively employed to achieve specific communication objectives. The results indicate that while command rhetoric can improve clarity and assertiveness, it also has the potential to come across as authoritarian and may alienate certain audience members.
