Abstract

China is an important player in the global tourism market and makes a significant contribution to the development of the tourism industry in many countries. Tourism is a powerful ideological tool in China's soft power policy. At the XX National Congress of the Communist Party of China (December 16, 2022), the report of the CPC General Secretary, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated: "One should steadily adhere to the course of developing tourism with the help of cultural resources and revealing the charm of culture through the development of tourism, promote the in-depth and integrated development of the cultural sphere and tourism. It is necessary to build up the potential in the field of international communication, comprehensively improve its effectiveness, and win the right to vote in the international arena, commensurate with the combined power and international status of China. To intensify exchanges and mutual enrichment between different civilizations, to promote Chinese culture to enter the world stage more confidently" The Party's guidelines for the development of tourism are being implemented in the plans of the 14th Five-year plan (2021-2025) and the vision until 2035, the medium- and long-term program for the Development of Culture and Tourism for 2021-2025.", which defined strategic goals in tourism in the new conditions until 2025 and 2035. China intends to shape the development of tourism through culture. To do this, it is planned to make progress in building a socialist cultural power, and by 2035 to complete work in this area, the Chinese middle class will become the main driving force behind the restoration of tourism, its number is expected to increase to 800 million people and thus the volume of the domestic market and income will continue to grow. By 2030, economic growth and higher incomes in nearby Asian countries will help China become the world's top tourist destination. The main task for international tourism will be to spread Chinese culture and socialist values.
