Abstract
The aim of this article is to show that the context and spaces in which the motor handicapped evolve in Senegal, as well as the political and legal environment, do not offer the conditions for access to inclusive, safe and high-performance mass sports practice. The methodology is based on interviews conducted mainly with handisport leaders and, above all, with people with motor disabilities, to hear their perceptions of the practice and their experiences as disabled athletes. The field survey revealed a highly complex socio-cultural environment that limits access to sporting activities for disabled people. The lack of specific sports facilities, the issue of accessible transport and the inadequacy of infrastructures are just some of the difficulties hampering the development of sporting activities.
