Abstract

Seyyed Abdul Hossein Lari (born on January 20, 1226 in Najaf, died on May 19, 1303 in Jahrom) was one of the clerics and mujtahids of the south of the country and a supporter of the constitution, who played a major role during the war between the nomads of southern Iran and the British forces in the First World War. He was one of the jurists of the constitutional era and one of the believers in the theory of the absolute sovereignty of the jurist, who presented this theory in his treatise (Walayat al-Faqih), which was also his margin on the achievements of Sheikh Ansari. The purpose of this research is to examine the nature of the preferred foreign policy of that era, which is based on the theory of the absolute sovereignty of the jurist, as well as its characteristics and goals in the political thought of Seyyed Abdul Hossein Lari, using the descriptive-analytical method. The findings and results of this research show that Sidlari supported the formation of the Islamic Council, which would be headed by a jurist of the Islamic Law, and he believed that the foreign policy approved by this council should be written based on the Sharia laws of Islam. For these reasons, referring to the verses of the Quran and the words of the innocents, he declared his opposition to some policies and even finally issued the order of Jihad against the government of Muhammad Ali Shah Qajar.
