EMPOWERMENT THROUGH PARTICIPATION: POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT OF URBAN SLUM DWELLERS

This article explores the transformative potential of participatory political engagement among urban slum communities. This study investigates how involvement in political processes enables slum dwellers to assert their rights, influence policy decisions, and improve their living conditions. Through qualitative analysis of case studies and participatory action research, the paper examines the mechanisms through which political participation empowers marginalized communities, fostering social inclusion and civic agency. It delves into various forms of participation, including community organizing, advocacy campaigns, and grassroots initiatives, highlighting their role in challenging systemic inequalities and amplifying the voices of the marginalized.
