Abstract
Soft skills play an important role in developing the personality of an individual. They are required in day-to-day work to carry out routine work more effectively. The paper aims to bring out the problems and prospects of the professional development opportunities of academic library professionals; the study recommends methods for improving the skills of library professionals. The study aims to evaluate the professional development activities of Library professionals and their attitude toward continuing education programs. The majority of the professionals pursue higher degrees in library science or It allied courses after entering the profession, and they have a positive attitude towards participation in training programs and workshops. The results show that developments in ICT positively influence most library professionals' attitudes towards continuing education programs.
