Abstract
In todays competitive job market, employers are increasingly seeking graduates with not just technical expertise but also strong soft skills. This research article examines the importance of soft skills in engineering and management education in India. We conducted a systematic review of recent literature and case studies to identify the key soft skills required for success in these fields. Our findings highlight the critical role of communication, teamwork, problem-solving, leadership, and emotional intelligence in preparing students for the workforce and enhancing their employability. We discuss strategies for effectively integrating soft skill development into the curriculum, including project-based learning and industry partnerships. The article provides examples of successful initiatives at leading institutions and examines common soft skill deficiencies among students. We conclude with recommendations for students, educators, and policymakers to prioritize soft skills alongside hard skills to improve employability and career advancement.
