Abstract
The article is dedicated to the development of a swimming training method for primary school children with intellectual disabilities to form initial sports training groups. The research substantiates the necessity of integrating children with intellectual disabilities into sports programs, which promotes their social adaptation and improves their quality of life. The use of ABA therapy in swimming training methods significantly enhances learning outcomes, including increased motivation levels, improved swimming skills, and better social interaction. The article presents the results of a study conducted at the "Avansan" medical center, involving 40 children. The application of ABA therapy showed significant improvements in the swimming skills and overall behavior of the children in the experimental group. The challenges of forming initial sports training groups and the need for a preliminary training stage are also discussed, the importance of further development of adaptive sports and the implementation of state programs in the field of physical culture and sports is emphasized.
