Abstract

Introduction. Climate change is having a significant impact on the economy and businesses. More and more businesses, including banking institutions, are beginning to take climate risks into account and implement sustainable finance policies. The principles of sustainable finance are receiving considerable attention in the EU. In 2018, the European Commission adopted the EU Action Plan on Sustainable Finance, which has the following main objectives: to redirect capital flows to green investments to achieve sustainable development; to provide a methodology for managing financial risks related to climate change; and to promote transparency, long-term financial and business activities. The purpose of the study is to identify the peculiarities of ESG policies and practices of Ukrainian banking institutions.
