Abstract

Introduction. In today's world, the concepts of «green» economy and sustainable development are becoming more and more relevant. Both concepts are aimed at improving the environmental situation and social well-being, but their approaches and emphases have important differences. Sustainable development is based on the idea of integrating economic, social and environmental aspects into development processes, with the aim of meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the opportunities of future generations. This is a broad concept that includes economic efficiency, social justice and environmental sustainability. The main emphasis is on three pillars: economic growth, social development and environmental protection. Sustainable development covers a wide range of topics, such as poverty, education, gender equality and climate change, and seeks to ensure the harmonious development of these aspects simultaneously. Goal. The purpose of the article is to analyze the common features and differences between the concept of «green» economy and the concept of sustainable development. Materials and methods. Analysis of the source base, which highlights the essence of the concept of «green» economy and the concept of sustainable development; comparative analysis of these two approaches. The results. «Green» economy is a specific approach that emphasizes the ecological aspects of economic development. This concept is defined as an economic system that reduces risks to the environment and promotes sustainable development through the rational use of natural resources. The main principles of the «green» economy include the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, efficient use of resources, recycling of waste and the promotion of innovative technologies that minimize the negative impact on the environment. A «green» economy emphasizes economic benefits from environmental investments and technologies that lead to increased employment and increased competitiveness.
