Abstract

Introduction. Considering the conditions of rapid digital transformation, enterprises face the need for continuous improvement of their internal processes. Effective business process management becomes a key factor in ensuring stable growth, increasing productivity, and reducing operational costs. Business processes encompass all aspects of an enterprise's activities, from production and logistics to human resource management and customer service. Proper organization and optimization of these processes allow an enterprise not only to meet market demands but also to anticipate and adapt to future changes. Objective. The objective of the study is to summarize scientific perspectives on the content, principles, and practical aspects of describing and managing business processes within an enterprise, as a concept of process management, where the activities and focus on the aggregation of interconnected processes are aimed at delivering results for both the enterprise and the consumer as a whole. Materials and Methods. The research methodology was based on the provisions of modern scientific periodicals and the results of studies by domestic and foreign scientists on the organization, management, and innovative approaches to business processes within an enterprise. During the research, the following scientific methods were used: theoretical generalization — to summarize the scientific views and concepts of leading domestic and foreign scholars on business process management; the structural-logical method — to systematize the classification of business processes; the analytic hierarchy process — to substantiate the technology of business process management within an enterprise. Results. The scientific article reviews and summarizes scholars' perspectives on the theoretical aspects of business processes within enterprises at the current stage of economic and entrepreneurial development. The practical foundations and patterns of business processes are characterized in the context of changes in the market environment and the type of enterprise activity. Key components of business processes that maximize their effectiveness are highlighted. The importance of key elements influencing the effectiveness of an enterprise's business processes is assessed, providing insights into the efficiency of the management system. The study focuses on the practical aspects of business processes, examining business process descriptions — notations that define, regulate, and describe the standards of their regulation: process sequences, the configuration of resource planning systems, and the set of conventions for all business process executors within the enterprise. To ensure clarity and emphasize the importance of business processes within an enterprise, we propose an algorithm of sequentially executed tasks that reveal the outcomes of the process and its effectiveness. Conclusions are drawn regarding the sequence of operations and actions that are interconnected and necessary for achieving and implementing the goals and objectives set by a specific enterprise. Prospects. Future research is suggested to focus on the optimization of business processes considering digital transformation: process automation, the implementation of big data technologies, and process visualization. Technological tools are becoming an integral part of business process management, providing greater transparency, control, and opportunities for innovation.
