Contributions to derleme sözlüğü [compilation dictionary] from demirci dialect-2 (animals)

Language is an important carrier of culture that is passed down from generation to generation. Language, which develops and changes over time and constantly updates itself according to the requirements of the age, contains all the characteristics of oral culture. It is a known fact that many elements of language have changed with the developing technology and that many words, especially from the past, have become forgotten. In order to preserve the language and transfer it to future generations, various dialect studies are carried out in the settlements where societies live. However, dialect studies, which are generally conducted in regional and provincial centers, do not allow the identification of dialect features in smaller settlements far from the center. For this reason, it is seen that in smaller settlements such as districts, villages and towns, many words that are in the past memory of the people and go back to the Old Turkic period still exist. In this study, the words compiled from Demirci district center, one of the most distant districts of Manisa province, and 78 villages connected to the center were examined thematically. In the study where the vocabulary of animals is discussed, a comparison was made with the Derleme Sözlüğü [Compilation Dictionary] and words that are not included in the Derleme Sözlüğü [Compilation Dictionary] were identified.
