Abstract

The article contains a review of aspects of teaching students of language profiles a foreign language, the peculiarity of which is the use of multilingual (bilingual, trilingual, etc.) dictionaries, the specifics and effectiveness of such training. The authors draw attention to the need to use multilingual dictionaries for the studied foreign languages, since teaching students of language profiles involves theoretical and practical work with several foreign languages. Thus, multilingual dictionaries will help to raise the educational and research activities of students to a qualitatively new level, increase the efficiency of assimilation of new language material in parallel in several languages studied and ensure students' success in further professional development. The article defines the main features of the construction of training provided that multilingual dictionaries are introduced into the educational process. The authors offer an example of a multilingual dictionary (in this case, a dictionary of proverbs and sayings) as a didactic material for students and a base for comparing pictures of the world of different cultures within the same language family.
