Abstract
The Latin American and Caribbean region, with its rich biodiversity, faces the challenge of integrating Green Science into educational curricula and public policies, in a context marked by socioeconomic challenges and lack of resources. Despite growing awareness of the climate crisis, environmental education remains insufficient, limiting the formation of citizens committed to sustainability. This article presents some challenges in the popularization of Green Science, including lack of curriculum integration, teacher training, unequal access to educational resources, political commitment, and cultural gaps. It is proposed that digital transformation, through fourth and fifth generation technologies, offers opportunities to overcome these barriers. Tools such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things and digital platforms can facilitate teacher training, democratize access to educational materials and promote citizen participation in the formulation of environmental policies. It also emphasizes the importance of instilling environmental awareness from childhood, enabling new generations to become agents of change in their communities. By integrating these approaches, we seek to empower communities to make informed decisions about conservation and sustainable development, promoting a more resilient future committed to protecting the planet.
