On the use of chlorine dioxide on the healthcare field and the importance of critical thinking

Abstract
For some years now, certain products without official certification for medical use, such as chlorine dioxide, sodium chlorite and MMS, are being advertised for the treatment of different diseases. This practice has even been increased during the current health crisis by COVID-19 pandemic. This document provides a non-exhaustive list of scientific publications and official warnings regarding the potential risk of these products when used in the field of human health care. This information is well known to experts but is not always accessible to the public. In addition, the use of critical thinking is illustrated to help the public process the available scientific data to form their own independent opinion.
