Abstract

The seismic simulator (or vibrating table) is an experimental testing device to test a structure against generated vibrations. This test device is capable of imposing vibrations on elements and/or models of structures, reproducing the movement of the ground in case of earthquakes. That is why seismic simulators are widely used within the field of engineering as a fundamental tool to investigate the effectiveness of new materials, devices and anti-seismic construction techniques. In the present project, a vibrating table or seismic simulator of an axis was developed, where the frequency and period of the movement are controlled by a mobile device for personal use, the frequency values can be defined by the user. Additionally, the acceleration of the structure is measured with reference to the three X, Y and Z axes at the top of the structure armed with the “MOLA Kit”.
