In the Journal Boliviano de Ciencias, we are pleased to present Volume 20, Issue 55, which stands out for its rich collection of research papers covering various fields of engineering. On this occasion, we highlight the synergy achieved between the journal and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Bolivia through its flagship event, the Bolivian Engineering and Technology Congress (BETCON XII). This event has been fundamental in promoting the participation of national and international researchers, enriching the content of this edition. The selected articles reflect the wide range of topics being addressed in the field of engineering in Bolivia and the region. These include case studies analyzing the communication system of the Cercado health network, the application of brain implants, devices for glucose control in diabetic patients, and the topic of Bitcoin.
