The relation of sociology with history differs from the relation of sociology with other social sciences. At the same time, the relation between sociology and history is also related to the future of sociology. The relation that sociology have with society has a meaning beyond the limited relation it has on a certain part of society or an up-to-date empirical material. The thing that makes up-to-date researches important is their being given a meaning and canalized in a wide theoretic/historic context. Otherwise, it is not possible to make necessary inferences from that kind of researches
