USURPATION OF POWER IN TRANSITIONAL DEMOCRACIES: MECHANISMS OF COUNTERACTION

Today, transitional democracies occupy a significant part of the geopolitical space. In such states, institutions have not yet achieved sufficient independence and sustainability, which opens up opportunities for the usurpation of power by interested parties. To prevent such threats, it is necessary to develop universal mechanisms that could be applied in most countries with a transitional type of society. The following mechanisms for countering the usurpation of power should be implemented in Ukraine. As a country with a transitional democracy, it faces numerous legislative gaps which entail the emergence of usurpation risks.
