Abstract
The authors address the transformation of organized crime in the era of robotics and the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence. These processes are unfolding in the context of a lack of legal definitions concerning the status of emerging technologies and the absence of legal responsibility for their criminal use. Policymakers around the world are working to establish a regulatory environment that encourages innovation in artificial intelligence while simultaneously mitigating the risks posed by actors seeking to exploit these technologies.
