In the digital age, teaching and learning foreign languages, including Russian as a foreign language, face the need to adapt to new realities, such as the use of artificial intelligence tools. As is known, AI influences the development of linguistic and communicative competence, motivation for learning, self-learning, and cognitive strategies in students, in addition to the methodological work of teachers. This research uses some methods, such as questionnaires, interviews, analysis, and synthesis, to analyze the psychological and pedagogical consequences of its use by students and teachers of the Russian Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in the academic year 2024-2025. The results of the surveys prove the existence of risks in teaching and learning. From that, there are some methodological recommendations for its use from the point of view of teachers, specialists, and students.
