Abstract
The aim of the study is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the history of the Museum of the Ukrainian Liberation Struggle in Prague through the lens of a Ukrainian archival exhibition project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Museum. The research methodology is based on an interdisciplinary approach combining archival analysis, historiographical review, and museum representation of the source base related to the history of the Museum of the Ukrainian Liberation Struggle, using materials from the collections of six central state archival institutions of Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to documents that were classified during the Soviet period and used in Chekist operations, but have now been introduced into scholarly circulation by researchers. The scientific novelty lies in the in-depth coverage of various aspects of the formation, displacement, preservation, and representation of the Museum's collections, as well as in the comprehensive interpretation of the significance of the «Prague Archives» as an element of Ukrainian cultural diplomacy, made possible through the exhibition project aimed at restoring historical memory in contemporary society. The study clarifies the role of the Ukrainian emigration, benefactors, and intellectual elite in preserving the national documentary heritage of the Ukrainian people. The conclusions emphasize the importance of the Museum of the Ukrainian Liberation Struggle as a unique phenomenon of 20th-century Ukrainian history, a symbol of the struggle for statehood and a source for the objective reconstruction of historical processes. The prospects for further promotion of the Prague Archives as an essential component of national identity are also outlined. The findings have practical significance for archivists, museum professionals, historians, as well as in the field of cultural diplomacy and international relations.
