Abstract
The literature data and the results of own investigation about biological role of 3 poly-unsaturated fatty acids in the marine and fresh-water fish are presented in the review. The anti-cholesterogenic antilipogenic action of eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acids of marine and freshwater fish oils and their significant role in prevention of human cardiovascular diseases were shown. The data about fatty acid composition of freshwater fish and about their usage in prophylaxis of some human cardiovascular and oncological diseases are grounded.
