Abstract
Legacy software is used in a large number of companies. To make software systems updated with current technologies, companies have two choices either create new software to replace the old or migrating the existing system into a new architecture that uses new technologies. Migrating existing systems can save a lot of time and money compared to the creation of new software. We aim in this paper to study the migration of legacy software systems with its objectives and the challenges faced by different approaches in complex software systems. We mainly focus on serviceoriented migration.
