Abstract
ABSTRACT The optimization process is done by designing different alternatives for noise barrier to minimize the sound pressure level in a domain behind the barrier. The objective is not to provide geometries with immediate practical applications but to estimate the improvement that could be obtained if noise barriers with improved shapes were used instead of the traditional barriers built today. It includes a case study which is a practical application for the measurement of difference in sound level of noise barrier at IIT Bombay. .The main conclusion is an estimate of the potential improvement of noise barriers efficiency by using innovative design includes layering of absorptive material and then the reflective material. Capsule- The optimization process is done by designing different alternatives for noise barrier to minimize the sound pressure level in a domain behind the barrier and analysis is done with a case study
