Abstract
This paper describes current situation in the area of European road safety and draws attention to the adverse developments in several Central European countries. It presents the approach of international project SOL in relation to strengthen road safety management capacity in the region of Central Europe. It underlines added value of networking and contains recommendations for building multi-stakeholder partnerships for road safety at national, regional and community level. It also provides resume of stakeholder assessment undertaken in Zilina region and stakeholder assessment map as a result of analysis of all major stakeholder interests, influence, importance and impact on road safety.
