The article describes the global ageing of population challenge and associated necessity of revision the dental care. The authors substantiate the large-scale implementation the foundations of gerontostomatology. The article deals with demographic and economic trends, which will provoke a serious social crisis relatively soon. The authors substantiate the importance of gerontostomatology, and the need for the use of an integrated gerontological approach as well as the remarkable role of gerontology as a theoretical and methodological basis of updating public health organization to the needs of elderly patients
