Abstract
Many factors determine the funding of a proposal. A key factor is the methodology proposed. This study examined the relative risk of proposal’s funding given the methodology used. A Chi-square test was performed to investigate association between proposal funding and the proposed methodology. Risk of funding was determined using the p-values from Chi-square tests, odds ratio (OR) and relative risk (RR) from risk estimates. All the p-values were significant at 5% level and thus lead to the conclusion that there is a relationship between the proposal funding and clarity of the proposed methodology.
