Abstract
The main problem is the world of humanity ? the influence of the metallurgical industry on the environment. Based on the developed mathematical model de-scription is made of the material and energy flows in the enterprise with a complete metallurgical cycle. The basic principles of economic development in harmony with the environment of the planet. Given were the estimates of indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of environmental conditions in accordance with environmental standards. The developed model of sustainable development gives priority action plan to prevent the most important environmental problems, to determine the main directions of optimization of production in order to improve environmental per-formance
