Network Analysis of Patent Infringement Lawsuits in Pharmaceutical Industry

This study proposes a systematic approach to analyze the roles of companies in pharmacy industry through the network structure of patentinfringement relationship. The influence of a company can be derived by their network centrality measures in the network. In addition, this study proposes a Naïve Bayes classifier with kernel density estimation to predict the role of new companies joining the pharmaceutical industry. The experiments show that the proposed performance analysis framework can clearly and easily identify the roles of companies in pharmaceutical industry.
