The article is aimed at uncovering the determinants of the development of the real sector of the Russian economy in the conditions of modern trends of transformation of economic activities in the information and communication environment. The directions of formation and use of mechanisms and tools of the information economy in the industrial sector, focused on the revitalization of modernization processes in the real sector. The conclusion about the need of tools and institutions of the information economy in order to stimulate economic growth of the Russian industry in line with key trends and strategic challenges of the modern stage.
