The article deals with the peculiarities of the translation of T. Grey’s poem ?Elegy Written in a Country Church-Yard?. The rapt attention is concentrated on the second variant of V. A. Zhukovsky’s translation. An attempt was made to analyze similarities and differences in the structure and genre specificity of the poem’s original text and the Russian translation.
