In article the category "visibility" in cultural science is analyzed important, according to the author. According to linear character of our thinking, visibility is understood and perceived like not which veil, a screen hiding essence. As a result the author comes to conclusion: that circumstance, that in visibility it is accepted to see only something negative of what it is necessary to get rid somewhat quicker, testifies to already developed tradition of visibility in understanding of the given concept.
