Abstract
In the formation of the professional competence of future oil and gas industry it requires a deep, comprehensive training on a cycle of scientific disciplines, where the "Higher Mathematics" is one of the basic units. This article highlights the issue of the direction of applied mathematics course for students of oil and gas fields. The expediency of the use of applications in the teaching mathematics to engineering and technical specialties of the university is presented. The requirements for the mathematical preparation of students of "Oil and Gas Business" at each grade level are revealed.
