EPIDEMIOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF CONGENITAL HEART DISEASES IN KAZAKHSTAN

Abstract
Kazakhstan is one of the largest countries in Central Asian region. In this retrospective crosssectional epidemiological study, data on prevalence and risk factors for the CHDs diagnosed in infants in Kazakhstan during past 10 years was analyzed. Official statistical data of the Kazakhstan Public Health Ministry on the CHDs was collected for the period from 2003 to 2012, on infants and children under age of 5. In addition, data collected by the National Research Center of Maternity and Child Health examined 7084 newborns and infants between 2010 and 2012, was also analyzed.
