Abstract
The role of Sibelius in the history of European music culture has been defined long time ago. Jean Sibelius is national composer and classic Finnish musician. He was a contemporary and direct participant of Finnish nation and the Finnish literary language formation, that later became the second official language in Finland. However, he was a European that was in the center of rapid change in aesthetics and composition technology, and France was the country that emitted pulses of innovation for the whole the European continent. The relations between France and Finland is one of the less studied theme of Sibelius heritage. The article identified study "routes" of French and Finnish music meridian of XX century.
