APPLICATION OF A NEW WAY OF LEARNING FOREIGN WORDS ?DESCRIPTION OF A STAR?

The article is devoted to a new way of learning of foreign words based upon the story composition about the distinguished personality. Here are some interesting results of recent pedagogical experiment that was carried out with students who are going to enter the German-Russian Institute of Advanced Technologies this year. The students had to put down several dictations, ? rst, according to the traditional method of learning new words, and second, based on the novel method called ?Description of a Star?. The results have shown the ef? ciency of new method, which has got all the perspectives for future successful application not only in the ? eld of higher education, but also as very useful way for improvement of self- education when learning foreign languages
